This is a story I art directed for Karin + Raoul and their latest release, titled the “Remix” Issue. It was photographed by their brilliant Editor-in-Chief Hassan Kinley and features apparel from brands Campagnolo and Cadence, courtesy of the good people Gear Collective (thanks Lovely!). This was a great shoot, and the locations were pitch perfect.

Pick up a full download here, but I suggest you make your bookshelf a lot prettier with the print version.

Dreamside at the Grace Hotel

Last week I created a poolside balloon installation at the Grace Hotel in Times Square for the Dreamside Pool Party. Visually massive and loud, the vision was neon colored zebras flying over a cloud of safari prints. Pics by Sergio Galarza.

It’s still nippy outside, so there’s still time to buy this Windstopper Climbing Jacket + bag combo from Nanamica and The North Face Purple Label and the fifth year of their Roots of Life project. This year’s theme is the deep sea. I illustrated the lining seen below, which is a paisley inspired print, featuring semi-fictitious underwater creatures. Images are courtesy of Nanamica.

That guy looks tired. Oh wait, that’s me. Thanks to everyone that came to the There Will Be No Survivors preview at Norwood last week. I’ve been taking a few days to get back to work and recharge. I feel both great and grateful. This series was a labor of love and I’m ecstatic that the event was so good. More after the jump.

Norwood was the perfect venue, and treated the guests to an amazing experience. I would love to work with them again and their top notch staff. A million thank you’s to Karin + Raoul for all their support (check out their recap). They gave the event a touch of class that only they can provide. Also, the lovely Sally Golan from Social Exposure Media made so much of this possible. DJ’s Valissa Yoe and guest DirtyBoogie were excellent at setting the mood and kept us in partymode. Lastly, the mysterious figure behind IStokeKareemBlacksCamera.com took some amazing shots, I’m almost afraid of what didn’t make the final cut. Also, I can’t forget Michelle Caganap for being amazing and putting up with all the crazy because otherwise my head would have spun off.
